Muir Woods
Here are two pieces of advice about Muir Woods:
Go and 2. Go Early
I’ve only been once [early] and during a pandemic so it may be vastly different during “normal” times. Regardless, I stand by ‘Go Early’. Dad and I were the second car in the parking lot and we had the park pretty much to ourselves. We wandered along the boardwalks and trails, rarely not looking up, taken by the beauty of the Redwoods and the morning light.
If you plan on visiting, make sure you make parking reservations. As we headed out of the park, we passed several overflow parking areas, showing just how busy it could get. While I believe early is the best time to visit, Muir Woods is a beautiful, magical place that you should put on your itinerary somewhere if you ever find yourself in the San Francisco area.
